The Day in Beauty, Vol. 1: The Little Book of Skin Care, Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Foundation, Hourglass Lip Oil, and Naps - Makeup and Beauty Blog
I'm trying something a niggling different today — a different kind of weblog post — something other than a makeup review, because, guuurl…my @ss is tired. 3rd trimester is no joke.
A few weeks ago my friend Jen and I were texting back and forth, and she was similar, "I hate to pause this to ya, only the third trimester is really, REALLY difficult."
And she was not kidding. And it's not just difficult considering, ya know, the achy hips and lower dorsum, the shortness of breath, or how it feels like the concluding leg of a long, drawn-out race (similar running three marathons back to dorsum), merely information technology's merely… I didn't conceptualize beingness this tired. I'yard really tired — similar, ridiculously tired.
I'grand and then tired, every bit a matter of fact, that I retrieve I'g going to have a nap. A very long, lovely nap. 🙂
But first, can nosotros chat?
So…concluding night I started reading a new book.
Well, it'south new for me, but I think it's been on shelves for a while. It's called The Little Book of Pare Intendance: Korean Dazzler Secrets for Salubrious, Glowing Pare, and information technology's by a woman named Charlotte Cho (she has a website, Soko Glam, where she sells Korean beauty products, and she'south also an esthetician).
The book is almost Charlotte'southward life, her experiences and the Korean pare intendance procedure. Charlotte was raised in Southern California, merely she later moved to Seoul, Korea, for work (she'south Korean, by the style).
I don't know if you're very familiar with Korean skin care products, but they've grown quite popular here lately in the U.S. (ane of my favorite Korean pare care brands is AmorePacific).
The book goes into the procedure, the philosophy and too lists some of Charlotte'due south favorite Korean peel care products, all of which she tests on her website. So in that location's likewise some interesting tidbits and insights into what it's like to live in Seoul.
It's been pretty interesting so far, and there's neat stuff like this cute illustrated 10-footstep (YES, x Stride) Korean skin care infographic…
The process kinda speaks to me, because I know how I am with makeup — I tend to make things a little more complicated than they need to be (Ooh! Only 10 steps!? Let'south practice this!) — but these days, with as tired equally I've been, I'd rather but launder my confront, put on some sunscreen, and call it a day, LOL!
Anywho, I flipped through the volume last nighttime earlier bed, and I think information technology may take fifty-fifty helped me sleep! 🙂 I slept nearly all the way through the night, and thank goodness for that considering I haven't been sleeping well lately. I felt not bad today, simply I haven't really been feeling that mentally great lately…so I went to the doctor earlier this afternoon.
The doctor, actually, was a therapist, and I call back I'k going to come across her regularly every so oftentimes. I don't know if it'southward simply considering I'm a naturally moody, artistic person, simply I feel similar I could use some extra one-on-i support.
And then, I'g going to be doing that, and non but through the cease of my pregnancy. I think I'll be keeping it up long term…
I'one thousand looking forrad to just talking to someone new most things and mayhap even learn some new means to frame the conversation in my head, if that makes any sense. And then that's what I did this afternoon, and it'south besides why I'm currently not wearing any makeup. None. Zippo. Zip.
Because after I got upwards this morning, I had things to practise, so I started doing them before I put on my makeup. And then I had to dash out of the house!
Actually, I oasis't worn any makeup in — look for it — two days!
Merely when I do finally put on makeup again, I'm looking forward to trying this new foundation by Giorgio Armani chosen Maestro Glow. Information technology's a serum foundation — thin formula, comes with a dropper, that kind of matter — with a dewy cease.
Giorgio Armani already has a foundation in their permanent line called Maestro Fusion Makeup, but this Maestro is different. It has a similarly thin consistency, just more of a glow, and it also has broad-spectrum SPF thirty (I can't remember if the original Maestro does too).
I'm really looking forward to spending more than fourth dimension with the texture, because I played with information technology a little final weekend. I put some on my face, and it was so incredibly lightweight that it felt like aught at all — simply exactly similar bare peel. I don't know if it's going to have enough coverage for me because it's also super sheer, but nosotros'll figure it out. I recall it'll probably exist a expert foundation for summer, when I don't want to wear heavy makeup on my face. It's $64 (!) and comes out adjacent month with a new primer (as well $64).
Um…the just actual (quote) "makeup" (unquote) I'm wearing today is the No. 28 Lip Oil by Hourglass — the best, almost comfy, most moisturizing lip oil known to womankind (at least this woman). The only thing is the price… It's $42, so if you ever feel similar wearing a very pricey lip balm, and/or you need something ridiculously hydrating, it'southward nifty (perchance for the adjacent Sephora VIB sale). I clothing it all the time with a nude pencil. I'll line my lips with the pencil, fill them in, then popular this on pinnacle and yay! — a mega moisturized nude lip.
I hope things are going well on your end. I think I'm gonna go take that nap now… Infant Girl just kicked me, by the fashion, so I guess she wants me to tell y'all "Hi." 🙂 Talk to you soon.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
